Defining ourselves politicly

For many years most of my friends would tell you that I was a Liberal. I never seen myself this way and I couldn’t understand why others seem me in that way either. Now my friends would call me conservative, I still don’t understand why they see me that way. While what I feel is the most important has changed, my core values are still the same.

What are those core values and beliefs?

1. Stand on your own two feet
2. Follow the laws
3. Treat people as you would like to be treated
4. Don’t be a dick
5. The 1st and 2nd amendments are absolute
6. Logic should rule
7. The people need to be protected from the government
8. You earn what you are worth to an organization

I think that is about it. I am a simple man with simple guiding principles.

I, however, don’t think any of these make me a liberal or conservative. An example would be that I think a woman has a right to do what she wants with her own body. If you kill someone you should also be killed. See neither liberal or conservative.

Look the liberal side of the states want to turn this into a giant holy war against anyone that does not view the world just like they do. I just can’t stand that. We should all be tolerant of each other and realize that if this country rises or falls we rise and fall as one.

Its for these reasons that I hate commercial news. If you get your news, primarily from Fox, MSNBC or CNN you are doing it wrong. You are letting giant organizations with an agenda control what you think and you are their tool. If you do your own research and come to your own informed decisions than the news you read is the tool.

 

Welcome Back!

After many years of having a blog, neglecting it and starting posts that never got done, I let the blog expire. Just recently I felt the need to get started again with a new focus, passion, dive and belonging.

In my past blog I tried to make it more than what I was. I kept putting posts off because they were not good enough. I would worry that I missed something and would not publish. So that made the updates that I did make small and meaningless.

With the relaunch of the site, I plan on not doing that. I want to make the blog small, manageable and more about…. well me. I plan on putting more and more of myself into the blog. I will post crapy poetry, thoughts on events, how-to articles, life updates and just what ever makes me feel like posting that day.

The main point here is to write. I want to write what I feel and not what others think I should write. This is really going to be about me. In that aspect I think I might have, maybe, 10s of viewers. If that is the case then so be it.
